The Food Services Services department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to students' health, well being and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices. We are proud to share that our schools have been awarded Gold of Distinction and Silver Medals for completing the Let's Move Healthier US School Challenge! This means we are serving healthy meals, providing nutrition education and physical activity for our students. April 2013, we launched district wide Coordinated School Health and are looking forward to working with all of our stakeholders to update our Wellness Policy! And, we hope all students will bring a clear water bottle to school each day and stay hydrated. Please see page 16, of the Student Handbook for items that may not be brought on to campus, such as soda, gum, chips and candy. We strive to work with our community  to promote healthy students in every area of their lives.

Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety of appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students. We have a Fresh Fruit and Vegetable bar each day and students are required to choose at least one, 1/2 cup serving of a fruit or vegetable. And, we purchase as many local food items as possible.

Cutler-Orosi JUSD students currently are served school meals (Breakfast and Lunch) at no-charge for the 2023-2024 school year, as an approved CEP program provider. Additionally, students participating in After School programs have access to the Supper Program and late afternoon snack. All students are required to use their own PIN number at our Point of Sale. Please help your child learn their individual number. Looking forward to a healthy school year!

2023-24 Cutler-Orosi JUSD is participation in the Fresh Fruits and Vegetable program.  With this program Elementary students are offered fresh fruits or vegetables 3 times a week, along with education on the nutritional values of the produce served.
