The No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001 enables parents to select supplemental educational services (SES) for their children. SES is additional academic instruction provided outside of the regular school day and designed to increase the academic achievement of students attending schools in Program Improvement (PI)Years 2 through 5. Eligible students are all low-income students who attend Title I PI Year 2 through 5 schools.

For the 2016-2017 school year, the SES program through Title I has been waived by the California Department of Education. Supplemental services will be provided to eligible student meeting established criteria through a Title I Intervention program after-school by COJUSD teachers. Teachers will be providing intervention to students that are performing below grade level in reading and mathematics in grades 2-12.
